Updating the Slideshow

So apparently Monoslideshow, the flash application I use in the header of my homepage, caches the images and XML files in such a way that simply refreshing the page does not refresh the slideshow. This is quite maddening. So I reckon I’m going to have to do something like this, post the images in a blog entry so that when you visit, the slideshow will be updated for you, too. So here’s a couple images from my recent Arizona trip, and updating images that were moved (hit refresh in your browser if the first two are my bike on a ferry and a picture of a lake):

A Bit of Randomness

I’ve implemented a random slogan generator at the top of the page, using the last few slogans and one new one. It’s something I thought about for awhile and finally got around to doing. I snagged a random quote generator in PHP and integrated it into my WordPress theme. I can override the random quotes if I enter a new quote in the tagline field of the Options page in WordPress. But I can also edit the script through the WordPress theme editor, just in case the quote’s a keeper.
I didn’t find an existing plug-in for this little widget, so future goal might be to convert this into a plug-in and distribute it.
