Spammers! AAAAAH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

For whatever reason, comment spammers have been drawn to this post today: Flash! AAAAAH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Luckily, I have all comments held for moderation, but I wish they’d figure that out and leave me alone. I’m tempted to implement a CAPTCHA system, since I’m sure these spam comments are automated. That would make it harder for legitimate commenters to post, but I don’t get many of them anyway.

Triumph USB Hub?
Permalink | June 27, 2007 by John in Gadgets, Keep For Later, Motorcycle
I have GOT to have one of these, if only for the garage computer. Solid Alliance USB Hub for motorcycle fans:
The three port USB hub is in the shape of a motorcycle engine, when connected to the PC it imitates the noise of the engine starting, when the kick pedal is pushed the sound changes to as you accelerate a motorbike with gear change along with the engine vibration and finally to a racing bike sound.
Update: Soren found the place to buy it online.

Travel Page Update

Inspired by the map in this post I went a little apeshit on the Travel page on my TBAWiki.
Yeah, I gotta get a life. I also have to find a better, perhaps motorcycle-focused, mapping application for longer trips. It’s a pain moving several way points around, trying different routes.

Fish Belches
Permalink | June 26, 2007 by John in Of a Personal Nature, Weightloss
So I got a letter from my doctor following up with the lab results from my recent checkup. Everything is normal except my cholesterol. What a shock. He said I get a prescription to control that or try losing weight again (so that means I’ll probably be on the prescription pills in three months when we have a followup). He also suggested fish oil capsules for a variety of issues.
As much as I belch, as much gas as I generate from both ends of my body, I should’ve known that taking fish oil capsules would be a bad idea. It tastes like I just had a tuna sandwich. And yes, I took it with food this morning. I may as well start taking garlic supplements, too, just for variety.

The Great Falls-White Sulphur Loop, day run, June 25, 2007. Couldn’t make the map go around the north side of Canyon Ferry Lake.
Notes: The bike ran great. Needs a little fine tuning but pulls strong and pretty smooth. I have a real faint squeak that I can’t find, but I suspect the belt drive (again). I can’t find anything wrong - I suspect the belt and/or sprockets have been tweaked a little and are causing a tiny bit of rubbing. Found a nice little BBQ joint in Great Falls, near the Target store.
