Gift Cards Are The Most Popular Gift

“Basically, you want to avoid the following cards:
- Blockbuster, Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s, because of expiration dates.
- Pizza Hut, and Shell for dormancy fees
- CompUsa, Home Depot,Kay Jewelers and Kmart, because the card can not be used on the store’s website.
“Bank cards, which are ‘gift cards’ that can be used like a credit card, have tons of hidden fees and bullshit and should be avoided.”

Wired: The New Athiests
Permalink | December 12, 2006 by John in Religion
I was having lunch at the Staggering Ox yesterday when I came across this article on atheism in Wired. I didn’t have time to read it all so I looked it up online for future reference.
I’m experiencing inner conflict. My issues are twofold. First, I can’t seem to purge the last vestiges of superstition from my consciousness (I seem to want to very badly). Second, I find my tolerance of believers waning, but I don’t want to alienate my friends (or clients) who believe. But my internal monologue is starting to bleed out into the world. I’m not so sure it entirely matters in the grand scheme of things; I don’t generally care when people keep to themselves. But the more evangelical/verbal a given person on the subject of mythology the more I want to smite them with a heavy object.

Paint Hasn’t Dried Yet On Proposed Bob Ross Video Games

It took Halo to get me to buy an Xbox (and Halo 3 might get me to buy an Xbox 360). A Bob Ross Video Game just might be the tipping point for me to buy a Wii.

Shiny MMO

Firefly Reborn as Online Universe: “Canceled in the United States after only 11 episodes, Firefly has become the Star Trek of 21st-century sci-fi fandom: a show that seemed to remake the genre even as it stayed faithful to the conventions of ‘hard’ science fiction, like engine room problems and menacing hordes lurking on the edge of known space.”
I’ve successfully avoided all the MMO games like Everquest and World of Warcraft. But this is the one that might do me in. Still, I’d rather have more Firefly TV shows or movies.
