Car slams into motel, parked cars…Update

As a followup to this post, last Friday the husband of the drunkard stopped by Gene and Nancy’s house to apologize for his wife’s actions. Apparently he had no idea the insurance had expired and this isn’t the first time she’s done something like this. They really felt for the guy and were impressed that he came by to apologize.
I’m not nearly as impressed. Yes, it’s a nice gesture, now shut up and make it right (not like he has a choice - I’m sure the insurance companies will be gunning for him and his wife). Actions talk. Everything else is rhetoric.

Miles Per Dollar

Apparently it costs me less than one dollar each way to commute to work in my car (MP$ Calculator). Oddly enough, it costs slightly more (but still less than a dollar each way) to ride my bike to work because I put better gas in my bike than my car.
I’m very close to restoring my motorcycle to nearly dead-stock this winter just to improve the mileage. I probably won’t but I’m considering it. I probably won’t because it’s really my weight that’s the problem. I know lots of skinny guys with similar mods to their bikes who get 10mpg more than I do.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is looking for a Sr. Interaction Designer: “Temple-worthy Church Membership in the LDS Church, and 5 years web design experience are required for employment. Temp. project work may be an option for non-LDS designers.”
Believe it or not as a libertarian (small ‘L’) I’m all for this type of discrimination, but I secretly hope someone will sue them over it.
